Library Allard, located in St-Georges, opened its doors on January 26, 1983; it became a Municipal Library in the Rural Municipality of Alexander in 1988. The library has approximately 2,275 members including the members at the Beaches Library located in Walter Whyte School in Ward 1 that opened in September 1999.

Library Allard has approximately 15,900 items including books, magazines, videos and DVD, audio CDs, tapes, and a reference collection. The libraries also offer public internet acces, inter-library loans, photocopy, fax and scan services and a summer reading program. There are approximately 6,930 items at the beaches Branch Library.
